PADI Scuba Refresher
Back in the water after a break? We've got you. Rebuild your confidence and refresh your skills with 3 guided dives in Komodo's stunning waters. Our experienced instructors will have you feeling comfortable and excited to dive again in no time.

Not all dive centers are created equal. Here's what to look for when choosing where to do your PADI course in Komodo.
Instructor Experience
Look for instructors with hundreds of certifications completed. Ask about their rating — IDC Staff Instructors and Course Directors have the highest PADI training. Check if they speak your language fluently.
Safety Standards
Ensure they have emergency oxygen, first aid kits, and DAN insurance. Ask about their emergency action plan and evacuation procedures. Check if they service regulators annually and maintain equipment regularly.
Equipment Quality
Ask to see the equipment beforehand. Well-maintained, modern equipment (Scubapro, Mares, Apeks) works better and safer. Check BCD functionality, regulator breathing ease, and wetsuit condition.
Group Size
PADI allows up to 8 students per instructor, but smaller is better. 2–4 students means more personalised attention, a slower pace, and better skill development. Worth paying extra for.
Boat Quality
Comfortable boats with toilets, shade, and good safety equipment make long days more enjoyable. Ask about boat size, facilities, and whether they have spare boats for emergencies.
Reviews & Reputation
Read recent reviews focusing on instructor patience, safety culture, and how they handle nervous students. Consistent 4.5+ star ratings over 50+ reviews indicate reliable quality.

PADI ReActivate is a personalised refresher program for certified divers who haven't been in the water for a while. In Komodo, the refresher is integrated into a regular day trip — your instructor runs through the skills review on your first dive, and you continue diving the remaining two dives as normal. No separate pool session needed.
Online Knowledge Review
Complete the PADI ReActivate eLearning at your own pace before arriving. The program is fully personalised — you'll move quickly through concepts you remember well and spend more time on areas that need refreshing.
Join a Day Trip
You'll join a standard Komodo day trip boat alongside other divers. Your instructor is assigned to you for the first dive and will run through the refresher skills at a calm, sheltered dive site selected for easy conditions.
First Dive — Skills Refresher
On your first dive, your instructor guides you through core skills in the open water — buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, emergency procedures, and buddy communication. The site is chosen for calm conditions so you can focus on getting comfortable again.
Dives Two & Three — Fun Dives
Once your instructor signs off your skills, you continue the day trip as a regular fun diver. Enjoy two more dives at Komodo National Park dive sites — putting your refreshed skills into practice on real reefs with the rest of the group.
Updated Certification
Complete both the online review and in-water skills refresher to receive an updated certification card with a ReActivated date — showing dive centres worldwide that your skills are current.
Requirements — Must hold an existing scuba certification (PADI or equivalent from any agency). No minimum number of logged dives required. Good general health.
